DIY: Dorm Style.

Oh herrow der! It’s about to be an antsy hump day, agreed? Agreed.

My last class is Thursday night, and then I am set free for Thanksgiving break. OMGGG FREAKIN OUT!!! I can’t wait to see my family (again), my puppy, and my friends. Literally cannot wait to see them. And go to my gym. I’m a gym snob, have I mentioned that? We have like seven gyms on campus that I can go to, and I only go to two because they’re clean and have new machines.

Gym snob.

Anywho. Lately I’ve been dreaming of deliciousness I want to eat when I go home for break. I made a kind of bucket list. Please tell me you do that too. Otherwise you’re just strange and I’m not sure if we can be friends. KIDDDDINGGGG :)

Currently on the list:

Please be aware that the majority of these were written in the dark at my bedside. I get ideas as I’m falling asleep. Didn’t you know that I count cookies, not sheep? Getting hungry just thinking about it. And getting majorly excited for tonight. Guess who’s getting a free meal on da house? (in this case, da house is Syracuse University’s Honors Program)

OH YES, me. In case that didn’t make you want to get free food, it’s Hibachi. I get to watch a dude (okay maybe a girl but basically never) fly stuff around and make me some fried rice, darnit. Pause.

I’ll give you a moment.

This is possibly going to be the greatest night ever. Tomorrow night I’m going to dinner with one of my best chicas and then who knows what. No classes Friday, and therefore going home Friday, and therefore getting real food and soaking in the fact that I have no work to do and the whole world as my oyster my bowl.

I think a bubble bath is in order. Don’t you? Bubble wubble bath accompanied by copious amounts of homemade cookies, hot chocolate, and Women’s Health. So what if I usually read that when I’m working out. Vacations mean do whatever the fudge you want. Including but not limited to eating large amounts of mashed sweet potatoes with melted marshmallows, aka my favorite Thanksgiving dessert in the whole world. AHHH, tastes like childhood :)

Since I’ve been keeping you waiting, I ought to show you my dorm room. I’ve done a few things with the place. Ahem.

Seriously though, I’ve gotten super thrifty and all interior designer on you. Who knew?

My part of the room:

The Princess’ Dressing Room:

Classy, I know ;)

Beddy boo:

Desk (the Sparkly Cubicle, if you will):

Betch in the Ketch:

Face Painting and Bombshell Assembling Station:

Poster Wall #1:

Poster Wall #2:

DIY Clouds:

Done with a spare Equal Time Magazine cover, took forever to cut out but aren’t they adorable? Super fluffy looking.

DIY Magazine/File Holder:

Accompanied by soon-to-be DIY WallFlowers.

DIY Smoothie Component Bin:

DIY Every Snack in the Box:

Basically a DIY Anything-You-Want Bin. Magic.

And last but not least….

DIY Bandana Pillow, Side One:

Side Two:

Memories foreva. Two bandanas of the same size, lay flat right-side-in, stitch around three sides leaving one open, flip right-side-out. Stuff and then stitch last side closed. Bam.

My room is purty now. Happy camper. Excuse me as I go load up on caffeine so that I can stay awake the rest of the night.

I still think so. So, Starbucks? What’s the verdict?

Also, new TwitPic. Whambamthankyouma’am.

Have a good evening bloggy booooos! Full recap of hibachi food with the clan tomorrow ;)

For your LOL-ing pleasure:

xoxox,

Katelyn

Your room is so cute! I'm not surprised in the least. I was the DIY master when I lived on campus too. :) Now I'm just grimetastic.

Oh my gosh, your room is adorable! I absolutely love it. When I was living dorm-style during school I always had so much fun getting creative to make the most of my small space. DIY is the way to go!
And enjoy lots of delicious food while you're home! It's amazing how much we take full kitchens for granted.
