Hey there! Guess who survived her first day of the official Eat Clean Sweat Dirty challenge?
Me. Say hello to the Block kids. Nice to see ya.
I’ve been rocking the #EatCleanSweatDirty and #MakeItHappen hashtags for dayyyys now. What can I say, I never wait for things to officially start! I was just too darn excited. And I’ve been so glad to see your hashtags and link-ups all over Instagram, Twitter, and the blog world. I’m going to start featuring you ladies and gents when you do something that really makes my jaw drop. Already had a few of these. Makes me SO proud!
So, onto my clean travel eats. I started off the day with what I like to call a FoodHangover breakfast.
Clearly needed it after last night. This is my impromptu Quinoa Flakes bowl, in lieu of my typical oat bran. Aka, what I eat almost every morning because it just tastes so darn good. On the side, I had some Bialetti-made espresso with almond milk and stevia. I really can’t think of anything better.
Lunch was had en route to Virginia Beach, and was totally satisfying.
Greens, black eyed peas + garbanzo beans, avocado, sunflower seeds, blueberries + grapes, all dressed in balsamic vinaigrette. Held me until dinner!
Some road reading for along the way.
And a cool drink to keep me satisfied.
This is a new find for me! I added a packet of stevia and sipped as we drove. It was a nice afternoon pick-me-up, and took the edge off the heat. (can you say 102 degrees?)
When we arrived in VB, we settled in at our hotel and went to visit Grandma a couple of miles away. It’s always so nice to see her, and this week we’ll get to visit every day! We decided on the No Frills Bar & Grill for dinner, which had both plenty of market-fresh seafood and vegetarian dishes.
We started off with something super local and fresh:
Crowd-pleaser. Tuna + side salad, gone and gone.
For my entree, the Spotswood Salad + Salmon.
Can we talk about these almonds? Actually, you can’t see them. Look harder.
It came with a million things on top, including the salmon (duh), but also candied almonds, raisins, other yummy veggies, and balsamic vinaigrette on the side. The highlight byfar was the almonds. They were so good. I had to literally control myself and tell myself every five seconds, Okay, let’s not get crazy here. I think there may or may not have been a whole cup of almonds on there. Portion control, people. I brought half of it home.
Afterwards, I didn’t even have room for froyo, so I think that says a lot. And now, my friends, it is time for bed. Next up is Day 2 of Eating Clean and Sweating Super Dirty. Today I sweat really dirty because it was super humid outside. I didn’t work out like yesterday. A rest day was in order.
Are you ready for Day Two?
How did you celebrate Day One?
Brag about it! Don’t be shy.

Looks awesome!!! I’m ready for day 2! Day one was a success although it was a rest day for me so there was no sweating dirty
Happy Monday!
WOW both of those plates at No Frill Grill – the sashimi tuna (ALWAYS an excellent choice) and the salmon with tasty toppings – both are completely up my alley. Can we share?
Way to start #eatcleansweatdirty off strong!
I was weirded out at first by the raw tuna, but then I got over it. Soy sauce is so good. And girl, always up for sharing. The more the merrier!
love the hashtag!
Don’t forget to rep it!
