{Indulgence Friday}: Edibles.

Good afternoon, everyone! How’s your Saturday going?

So far I’ve slept in, had a huge glass of water, and am sitting down to blog before a day of semi-relaxation. Let’s chat about my night out!

Last night, the fammzy and I decided to try someplace new. We’ve become Regulars at a few places around town, but we decided to try out a new restaurant downtown. Our selection? Edibles.

Padre.

Madre.

We started off with an artisan bread basket. Foccacia served with a light, creamy butter on the side.

Next, we enjoyed crab cakes.

These were warm, light, decadent, and totally savory. The aioli on the side added a nice, spicy kick.

For my salad, I ordered the summer.

Greens, radishes,  cucumbers, tomatoes, and croutons. Love croutons.

But really, how can you say no to cheese-toasted bits of heaven?

Say hello to our main courses.

Madre’s Chicken d’ Medici: Panko chicken cutlet, arugula, lemon, parmesan.

Baby Sister’s Beefsteak Tomato with garlic quinoa, mint, and smokey greens.

Padre’s salad with Asian-fusion shrimp. Unreal.

And finally, the main event.

Honey Ginger Glazed Salmon with Cherry Quinoa and Scallion Oil.

This was insane. I knew I wanted something sweet and savory, and this hit the spot. The scallion oil atop the cherry quinoa and honey glaze created a great fusion of my favorite flavors. By the time I had eaten 80% of this, I was stuffed and had to stop. More for later!

By the end of our meal, the chef walked around to talk to customers. I personally thanked him for the food, and the belly ache that I would be having.

I love Indulgence Friday.

Later in the night, I saw some friends and came home (yet again) way too late. Which is okay, because today is my day off! But when I have a “day off”, it’s said loosely. I don’t have any “official” commitments, but I have a drawing project to finish, e-mails to answer, and graphic design projects to work on. I also have the gym to hit up. It’s going to be relaxing, but also productive.

How did you spend your Indulgence Friday?
Saturday plans?

Wow, that looks absolutely phenomenal! Admittedly, it’s hard to go wrong with salmon but that looks particularly delicious – I think you made the right choice ;)

My Saturday? “Recover” from my morning run (read: lay on the couch and nap), go to yoga, and make pizza for dinner. We’re keeping it nice and low-key this weekend.

I love productive Saturdays! Running errands is one of my favorite Saturday activities. Weird? Maybe.

And P.S… That food looks UNREAL. Foccacia with butter? I die.
