{#FitVEDA!}: Apartment Shopping + #BrandsILove

by Katelyn Block on August 12, 2012 · 19 comments

Hey there!

VLOG for you tonight :) Thank you for all of the awesome comments the last few days, apparently I don’t put enough pictures of my face on the blog! AND I missed my Blogiversary — so spread some love. August 8th was the second anniversary of this little blessing, which has turned into a central part of my life. Two years, five days, and counting!

I’ve started using a new hashtag: #BrandsILove to tag Instagram pictures of brands… that I love! Progenex is a new one, which I tried awhile back when Aaron (the owner of Progenex) worked out with us at our box.

Other things I love (read: guilty pleasures):

Froyo. Le sigh. This is the last time, I promise. I need to stop splurging so much! #notpaleo #notsorry

Apartment shopping: Things I should get?! Think unusual stuff… already have basics including kitchen essentials, vacuum, bedding, all that.
What toppings do you get on your froyo? I get chocolate, nuts, chocolate cups, chocolate syrup….. did I say chocolate?

I’m loving the rustic look lately.. I took out my desk and replaced with a table found at the thrift store and added a tall mirror for a diy vanity! I replaced the ugly, black desk chair with a thrift store bench I found and I just recovered the fabric. I also found a old white window and cleaned it up and hung on my wall.. thinking about adding a string of pictures in front! Let it be you! p.s. I highly recommend a full-length mirror tucked behind your door :-)

Wait… that is SUCH a cute idea!!! I definitely need to hit the thrift stores and try to find some old furniture to spice up. Love the DIY idea!

You are definitely going to want extra storage space! Think shelves, a little file cabinet, pretty containers, big bins etc. It is incredible how much STUFF you’ll end up bringing, and it all needs a place to go (especially all of the textbooks, old paper, and misc. school stuff). Also, stock up on cleaning supplies, especially if you can get your parents to buy you some now ;). Nothing is more depressing than spending half of your paycheck on toilet paper, Windex, and sponges. Ick.

for froyo – I’m all over the chocolatey toppings too.
Peanut butter cups, skor bits, chocolate sauce. Plus I’;; throw some marshmallows, banana slices and sprinkles in there just for fun.

Your hair looks really cute in the first picture! :)
Something that I would have never thought would be useful is one of those white, plastic laundry baskets. It’s great because you can just throw all your shoes in & then lay my clothes that are on hangers on top of them. It saves me a trip or two when I’m moving back in or coming home on weekends.

Hooray for #FitVEDA!! Loving the idea of #BrandsILove…may start using that! Hope you enjoy your crock pot. Before going vegan I used my crock pot a lot. So convenient!

Cute vlog! I feel ya on the froyo….I think I have a serious addiction! ;) I fruit & almonds for my toppings. That way I keep it somewhat healthy.

Wahoo. Two years, congrats on the bloggy birthday!
All your pictures were stunning, I didn’t get the chance to comment since I was at work…oopsy.
Portland looked beautiful though!
Never heard of progenex, I’ll have to check out that brand.
Hm…apartment stuff like…paper towels, kleenex, broom, bathroom cleaner, windex, swiffer duster, swiffer, fabric softener, dish soap, those scrubby cleany things for dishes, and um that’s all I can think of right now.

Ahhg I’m the same with froyo. It’s my favorite splurge, but I could do with way less indulging because of the major sugar content. But chocolate on top also makes me oh so happy! Cocolate chips, blueberries or banana, and walnuts. Cookie dough if I’m really in for a treat!

Cute vlog! Froyo really is the best, not the best for my pocket though, I think the most I ever spent was something like 7 dollars on one bowl (fruit is heavy! hah) #yikes. Anyways I was just wondering, did you ever post the winner of the coconut oil? Maybe I just missed that.

Ikea Ikea Ikea! It’s not nearly as hard to put together as I though it would be and WAY more resiliant than I anticipated. Plus it’s super duper cute!
Overstock is amazing for things like linens and what not.

If I don’t stop buying so much fro yo like i dunno today, I wll go broke. That about sums it up.

I’ve started vlogging this month, but I’ve missed a 2-3 days of the #FitVEDA. I feel accomplished for at least getting myself on video and not wanting to stop. Ha. :)

As far as apartment shopping goes, I LOVE Ikea, so need to go back there soon! I’ve never had froyo or anything like that because it’s not vegan. I wish they had some vegan yumminess.
