^^ It wasn’t actually, but that would have been cool. It was my Dad’s.
Oh HEY there! Who’s outside enjoying the sun right now?! Not I…. I got my Vitamin D and now I’m chilling inside with some coffee. Casually and deliciously.
Tomorrow my roommate D moves in, and I can’t wait to see her again and have a tall-person-little-person reunion. Seriously, I am so small next to her. On our last reunion, she patted my head, gave me a hug, and said “My little munchkin is back!!!”
Typical candid laughing shot.
We have a weird relationship.
So today, I made a CrossFit convert!! It’s true. And it made my day. A bunch of my sorority sisters have been seeing my blog, twitter, Instagram all summer long and were seriously intrigued as to “what this crossfit thing is???”. Well first of all, it’s awesome. Second, I give them the lowdown about the definition of CrossFit “constantly varied functional movements executed at high intensity”. And then I tell them about the typical workout format. Warm-up, strength or skill, WOD, cool down // stretching or “after party”.
So, three of my best friends and sisters are now hooked on CrossFit and only one of them have tried it. Which was today.
When we got to CrossFit 315, I had heard great things, but didn’t know what to expect. I’m really picky with boxes, in the best way possible as I like to think. Things I look for in a box: Really well thought-out programming // workouts, a strong community, and an enthusiastic bunch of trainers and athletes. I found all of these.
Our WOD today was simple: 2000m row with 3 burpees, EMOM. Finished in 13:32 and collapsed on the floor. It was awesome.
And the best part of the day? I made a CrossFit convert!! One of my sisters (and best friends) Liz is hooked and wants to go (almost) every day. This makes my life so happy. I have three or four other people that still want to try it out with me and I can’t wait until they sip the CrossFit kool-aid. No going back.
How did you Sweat Dirty today?

I’m just sweating because it’s hot here…
Wow, that’s so cool! Especially since Crossfit can kind of be a big commitment. Now you’ll have lots of people to go with you, too. I’ve always wanted to have friends who would come work out with me.
uhm, did you seriously row 2000m or is that supposed to be 200? because if you did 2000m that fast I may cry. LOL. congrats on the convert!
I was thinking that too!!! 2000m on the minute, every minute is crazy! lol
I’m really curious about this too, but as a noncrossfitter. I row in college and my PR is 7:26.5 for 2000m. I looked up what EMOM is, so I think I get that but how does the 2000m fit into that? Like did you get any rest during your 13 minute WOD through the EMOM part? Just curious because it might be fun to adapt some crossfit workouts for our individual training. Thanks!
awh! such a cute roomie pic that you posted! i miss college and having all my sorority sisters around me at my beckon call!! you definitely make me want to jump on the crossfit train for sure!!
Riding 25 miles tonight!
My favorite roommate was my brother in college.m
Yay for you being back at school!! I’m two years out of college and still miss it so much!
I worked it out at the gym today. Off day tomorrow to prep for a long run Saturday. It’ll be the farthest I’ve ever run so I’m getting a liiiittttle antsy!!
I’m chillin inside with some coffee too! Way to go on your crossfit conversion. It’s always fun having friends to workout with.
That is awesome that your sorority sisters were so down to try Crossfit with you! It is the best when you have reliable workout buddies to sweat it out together. 2000m row??? oh no, not those dreaded 2k tests!
So exciting you got a convert! I’m always telling people how amazing CrossFit is! We have to spread the awesomeness!
My husband is my favourite room mate
