Good Investments.

Oh hey there! Where have I been? MIA for the last two or so days, but I mean, places to be, people to see. Kidding. More like so much to do + my obsession with CrossFit = not enough sleep. I know I could get to sleep earlier if I had the drive, but right now I’m enjoying the post-Syllabus Week satisfaction that comes after having (almost) no schoolwork to do.

So, guess who made a new investment!!

MY NEW LEEETLE BABY. How cute is this Kindle? It’s perfectly-sized, and I got it refurbished, saving me $20. Talk about getting thrifty.

The beautiful thing about this is that I can buy a lot of my textbooks as e-books and read them on the Kindle (saving a minimum 20 pounds of sanity) or on my MacBook Pro. Green, money-saving machine.

I was also in need of some speakaaaas for this joint, so I spent a few too many hours on Amazon comparing every single set of speakers and finally settled on these beauts:

Less than $30. Don’t be fooled by their size. These are seriously powerful and when I watched The Hunger Games with one of my sisters Thursday, we felt like we were actually in the movie. Unreal.

Plus I love the word Subwoofer.

Don’t worry, people. I’m still eating.

Tooooons of veggies. What I’ve figured out: at the end of the day if I want something to munch on, grab some veggies. Hello. What a genius idea, nature. Update on my training soon. Until then, tell me:

Any good investments you’ve made lately?

Love the new purchases! I won an iPad a while back and I love it. I’ve tried reading books on it… but I just can’t do it. I’m weird. LOL. I do love putting Pandora on (on the ipad) in the morning and getting ready to music. I should invest in some speakers though.

Hope you have a great 3 day weekend!

I have a Kobo e-reader and I love it! it is so much more convenient than carrying heavy books around. I do admit, however, that is does not beat going to the public library for FREE books!

I’m considering either purchasing a new bed or a flat screen TV. I don’t have a TV and my bed is old, and I don’t have enough money right now for both. I can’t decide which I need more!

I am about to invest in some new furniture pieces for my bedroom and a flat screen tv to mount on the wall. Anyone got a recommendation for a TV?

Enjoy your Kindle! It’s awesome you can use e-books for school now. I graduated college a year ago and they didn’t have anything implemented like that!

I can’t decide if I should get an eReader or not! I loooove books, but it just seems more practical to keep them all on one device. Hmmm….

Congrats on your new little baby – aren’t Kindles amazing? I wish they had them when I was in school! I was dead set against getting one (I like my books- the smell of the pages, making dog-ears, the whole bit), but finally succumbed to cultural peer pressure, haha, and got one about a year ago, and I just LOVE it – I have 98% free books that I’ve downloaded and I’m set for a very long time with reading material.

That salad looks so yummy! :)

Kindle’s are so cool. However, there is just something about turn pages and the feel of a book I love. Maybe I’m a bit old fashioned about it. Glad you can save money on textbooks thought. They are ridiculous. Just paid over $100 for one!

I have Kindle for my Mac and iPhone – lemme tell you, it has saved many-a-backache when it comes to lugging textbooks to class and the library. I try and purchase all my texts online, and then I have them accessible to me at any time! I love the search feature and the list of everything you have highlighted. It makes referencing something you’ve previously read SO easy.

all summer I’ve been wrestling with the idea of buying an e-reader, either a kindle or nook. Any particular reason you decided on the kindle versus the nook or other brands?
My mama is a librarian and super against digital books, and while I kind of agree and love the feeling of books, an e-reader is very practical. I’ll be taking a lot of plane rides this year and don’t wanna be lugging hardcover books cross country…

My Kindle was one of the best gifts I’ve received in a while. While I still prefer actual books to their electronic counterparts, traveling with the Kindle was fantastic. Enjoy!
