Finding Positivity in the Everyday + New Favorite Lil’ Thang

Hey there! How’s everyone doing? It’s a dark day here in Syracuse, but ya know….

Fact.

I’m feeling really happy today because I’m finally starting to figure things out. I’m feeling more comfortable here and now and really living in the present — except when I’m thinking about things I have due… ya know. This weekend will be spent working on projects. Tons and tons of projects. (look at this party animal go!)

Because I have an exciting event next weekend (Pretty Muddy Columbus, I’m looking at you!), I have a lot to prepare ahead of time so that I can really enjoy my couple of days away. Road trips aren’t exactly the epitome of “relaxation time”, but I’ll be with my Mama Bear. She didn’t want me to drive the eight hours myself, so she’s coming along for the ride! Dawwww.

Since I’ve been talking so much the last couple of days, I figured it would be refreshing to let pictures do the talking today ;) First, let’s all observe this adorable travel mug I found on Fab the other day:

And it got to me so quick! I was waiting anxiously for this because the only other travel mug I have is porcelain and made for a 16-oz. cup for tea. THIS my friends, is not only adorable, but teeny-tiny and perfectly sized for my baby hands and for baby espresso. Espresso is typically only a few ounces, so having something that is small makes my life a lot easier. I also love that it’s lightweight, spillproof, and unbreakable. No I was not paid money to say this. I bought this lil’ thang with my own hard-earned dollars and I’m so happy I did.

You can get one at KeepCup’s website. (I recommend the extra-small for espresso, small for one-cup sizes, and larger for those of you that “go hard” with your coffee)

Fun fact: 28 disposable cups are all that’s needed to make this small KeepCup. How fast do you go through plastic cups? I think it’s time we all get a little more green!

Exhibit A: Paper and plastic = going in the trash. Bad bad.

And while writing a paper.

(!!!!) Look at me getting ish done! In the library, and on the quad.

How beautiful? I wish every day were like yesterday. Perfect temperature. Just cool enough to have on a light jacket, warm enough for shorts, and sunny enough for sunglasses.

One thing I’ve been working really hard on lately is positivity. I have some amazing people in my life that teach me a lot, including seeing the positive in every situation, as hard as it can be. Whenever someone I know is having a hard day or a hard week, I remind them about all of the beautiful things that happen every day. The little things are what makes all the difference. When you choose to filter your mind to see the beautiful things in life, the hard stuff becomes so much easier.

Which is why I have this as the lock screen on my iPhone. Practice what you believe in, just like the fact that the energy you put into something is what you’ll get out of it.

Just like Instagram.

I surpassed 1000 followers the other night without even realizing it! How awesome is that?? I love all of the support I feel every day and especially the excitement of the Instagram community. Everyone loves to cheer on those around them and push each other to reach their highest potential. And it’s just so exciting! There are so many awesome ideas that come through my Instagram feed every day, including pictures of food… which I can’t help but love.

More numbers…. it’s been chilly lately!

True fact, I had to wear a jacket and PANTS the other day. I hate real pants. If I could have it my way, it would be yoga pants every day. Unfortunately, this isn’t “socially acceptable” to do (what does that even mean… I do what I want), so I stuck it out and wore jeans.

This same night (despite the cold), I wanted froyo, so I got froyo.

My body goes through this thing where it gets confused when I eat so healthy for a long time. Given that I am putting my body through so much when I train every day, it starts to be like, “Stop eating so healthy and give me something with lots of sugar” so I get froyo. And then I feel back to normal. (P.S. They have a new white chocolate macadamia nut flavor and it is SO GOOD. Just throwing that out there)

And then on nights when I know I haven’t been to the grocery store in two weeks and have nothing to eat, I get Chipotle.

Double the chicken, plus guac. After Brad’s video, I’ll be getting the pork from now on. Fun fact: It’s the only meat at Chipotle not cooked in soybean oil!

TELL ME:
Jeans or yoga pants?
Chipotle or Moe’s?
Guac or sour cream?

Happy Friday, everyone! Be safe, be sane. Hoping to come atcha with a delicious, satisfying, NON-slow-cooker recipe this weekend! Stay tuned.

I think you should coin a new lifestyle called “Pale-fro-yo” or something, lol. Love it.

Yoga pants, no question about it. Moe’s, because my friend’s dad owns one. And guac, because it’s frickin amazing.

I love everything about this post!
1. I love your baby travel mug! It’s adorable, and the perfect size for a caffeine fix that won’t make you have to pee every 5 minutes!
2. I love your positive attitude, the world needs more positivity and optimism in it.
3. I think it’s funny that it’s colder where I am in NC than where you are in NY, I do live in the mountains though!
4. I’m super jealous of your cup of fro yo, it looks delicious and I’m determined to get some ASAP! I’ve been like 3 weeks without it, TOO LONG.
5. Too true about the yoga pants, I teach Pilates twice a week at my college and I totally take it as an excuse to where yoga pants all day.
6. My college town doesn’t have a Chipotle or a Moe’s. It’s a pretty tragic situation.

Yay, I’m so happy you’re happy. Syracuse weather is definitely one of those things that can impact it, but don’t let the grayness get you down :) . Love your locked screen quote, by the way!

Jeans, jeans, jeans. I love yoga pants but I have trouble being productive in ‘em if I’m not on the mat.
I prefer Chipotle.
Definitely guacamole! What a silly question.

What a great positive post! It’s awesome that you’re feeling so happy.

And…guac all the way. I despise sour cream!

I LOVE the weather that you are having! I would take 30-60 degrees with sunshine anyday! I love chilly and cold. Definitely sour cream over guacamole!

What a neat tidbit! I’m always at Chipotle, and I never knew That the pork is the only meat not cooked in Soybean Oil.

I’m still laughing at the above comment about Pale-fro-yo. Can I join in on the fad? I had a St louis blogger meet up and we went for fro yo. Yummers.

Froyo and Chipotle….nothin wrong with that!! I’m going with yoga pants (even though I usually choose jeans), guac (f’sho), and Chipotle (but I’ve never been to Moe’s). Have a great rest of your weekend!
