{FoodPorn}: So Super Stinkin’ Thankful.

Thanksgiving weekend is one of my favorites of the entire year. Wednesday night starts off the weekend with a serious celebration, followed by working out (or sleeping half the day) on Thanksgiving morning, eating your body weight in food, and then passing out to football.

My Thanksgiving look: Flowy top, gold Lucky Brand necklace and cuff. I’m also wearing deceptively stretchy jeggings. Oh I’m so sneaky!

Can I just say first of all, the Patriots rocked it. I so have football loyalties and I’m dang proud of it. We KILLED the Jets!

Football aside, Thanksgiving morning, I started with a WOD with CrossFit 908 in Berkeley Heights, NJ.

Not my photo — thanks Erin!

I had a great time with CrossFit 908 and bought a bomb hooded top. Das a suprise.

It was supposed to be an Invictus rest day. Granted, I woke up and was so ready to go back to sleep and give my body a break, but the baby sister really wanted to go. So we went. It was definitely not active “recovery”, but it sure was active!

We did three 6-minute AMRAPs of:

6 minutes of:
11 burpees
22 wall balls (14#)

2 minutes rest

6 minutes of:
11 abmat situps
22 kettlebell swings (1 pood)

2 minutes rest

6 minutes of:
11 calorie row
22 lunges with a 25# plate overhead

I don’t remember my rounds, but I got 4-5 of each. Ouchy.

Post-WOD, I had a protein shake, and then made some eggs to have with black coffee. My grandma’s coffee is the real stuff — half-caff and you would never know. She once tricked me into drinking decaf. Fact.

And then I got a Starbucks Skinny Peppermint Mocha Latte — who wouldn’t?! ‘Tis the season!

Daddy had a sip and approved. And he doesn’t even like sweet things.

I wrote up a quick blog post and then headed to the cousin’s place. The whole family bonded over everything that’s been going on in our lives, and finally got to eat. I was so friggin hungry.

A little bit of each of my favorites! From bottom left around clockwise: Turkey with gravy (x2), magical green beans (x3), broccoli and cheese casserole (x2), candied yams, and brussels sprouts.

I have to say, the broccoli & cheese casserole and the candied yams are my favorites. I got double helpings of almost everything.

And then dessert, because I don’t mess around.

Chocolate chip bread, cheesecake, and pumpkin pie. I topped everything with my grandma’s whipped topping. She makes it from scratch with whole whipping cream and sugar. There was so much sugar in the last few days that I can barely handle it. Except I really don’t regret any of it.

That’s why I love Thanksgiving. Four days of gluttony, four days of football. Did anyone watch the Notre Dame/USC game last night? Incredible.

On this giant screen. I wish I could show you how big it REALLY was: about the size of my living room. This picture doesn’t do it justice.

I have awesome friends.

How was your Thanksgiving?
Are you watching football today?

Love seeing another woman double up on the desert plate! I did the exact same and it was AWESOME! Thanksgiving was a blast and having my last plate of leftovers tonight and I’m excited. I love the flavors of turkey dinner and the family/friend time. I didn’t know you were a Jersey girl???

Awesome job on that WOD! That looks intense. Your dessert plate looks a lot like mine did. I need to get back to some clean eating. I was visiting my parents this week and they love their carbs!

Sounds like a winning day to me. This week is the perfect opportunity to eat slightly less than healthy. Then we go back to normal again. That chocolate chip bread looks delicious! I’d totally fill my plate up with just that! and the magical green beans. So good, I love the holidays :)

I already miss Thanksgiving, how sad is that? I sort of want to celebrate AGAIN next week, but alas, I will be going back to the “real world” tomorrow… And won’t get to wear my fat pants on Thursday! LOL!

Dessert plates should be regular sized plates. That’s all I’ve got to say!

Your Thanksgiving sounds like it was great! That plate of food looks delicious, especially the dessert plate! I definitely went back for thirds (okay, I lie, fourths) of the pumpkin cheesecake during Thanksgiving!
