Hi friends! I have a great product to review for you today.

As a FitFluential Ambassador, I’ve had many great opportunities to travel, meet incredibly inspirational, successful people, and receive high-quality products to try out and talk about honestly to all of you.

Full disclosure: I whitened my teeth in this picture and I may have gotten too excited. Don’t judge me.

The latest installment is the Technogel Contour pillow.

Upon first receiving of the pillow (which was happening during the “big move” across town, so that was a ray of sunshine in all of the clutter), I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and comfort of the memory foam. In the past, I have tried out memory foam pillows that were more stiff than form-fitting.

Technogel has taken the memory foam technology and made it less technology, and more awesomeness, under my head.

Let’s talk a bit about my sleep history. I sleep like a rock.

And am darn happy about it.

One time when I was 7-ish years old, we had an earthquake in New Hampshire. We don’t get earthquakes often. Or natural disasters. Just snow. Fluffy, white snow. (perfect for building snow forts)

Anyway. We had an earthquake, and I had no idea until I woke up and my parents told me about it. So whenever people ask me how I sleep, I tell them that I once slept through an earthquake. And then they ask no more questions.

So now that we know I can sleep for hours on end, let’s address the fact that I have trouble getting good sleep. The kind that helps you feel rested and refreshed the next day. I often have trouble falling asleep (I blame Chatterbrain Syndrome) and staying asleep.

The pillow is shaped specifically to give support to back and side sleepers. I am both. I usually fall asleep on my back, and wake up on my side.

The Contour is shape specifically for this, giving the neck ample support, and creating distance between the pillow and the shoulders. In the past, pillows have created strain on my neck, tilting my head forward and creating an ultimately uncomfortable experience. This pillow is different.

It is shaped to align your spine naturally, and keep your head in line with the rest of you. Which, in general, is important to neck and back health. For those of you that are athletes (or have ever seen a chiropractor), you know the importance of proper alignment and back health. The same thing goes for those of you working desk jobs.

After two nights of sleeping on this pillow, I saw improvements. My neck pain was reduced, and I started naturally waking earlier. Typically, I have unexplainable tightness in my shoulders (mainly my traps), which goes into my neck and gives me god-awful tension headaches. These slowly started to fade away, and I started sleeping better.

By the end of this week, I was sleeping better than ever, getting more done in the daytime, almost completely eliminated my neck pain, and have reduced my coffee consumption to two total cups a day.

I’ve also been tricking myself by drinking half-caff. What a sneakster I am.

The pillow is beautiful, heavy, squishy, and oh-so-soft. When you take off the slipcover, you can see the blue cooling layer a little bit. It’s awesome and very blue and exciting. You can play a little bit with the technogel technology on their website (and learn a thing or two).

I personally liked that it already came with a cover. I’m not sure why, but that just goes the extra mile in saying: “We want you to dream in ultimate softness, like clouds”.

Let’s have a bit more of a look into the pillow with this short video. I put some snazzy effects in, so enjoy.

How do you sleep? (Jesse McCartney reference, anyone?!)
Have you ever tried a Technogel pillow?
What are your thoughts on memory foam and the “permanent cool-side-of-the-pillow” feature?

Kudos to the little sister who took these gorgeous photos and held the camera during video shooting. xo baby sis.

I sleep pretty good, but I do get neck pain so I could use this pillow.

I grew up in California, so I’ve lived through a lot of earthquakes. We still tease my sister because she slept through the Sylmar quake, which was a huge one (6. something) back when we were kids.

Haha! That sounds similar to what happened with me!

Great review! Love that it’s cooling – that’s a big plus. Glad it’s helped with your neck pain; I’m hoping it can do the same for me! Thanks

You’re welcome! The cooling effect is one of my favorite parts.

I am a stomach sleeper and often have neck pain in the morning from my head turning to its side while I sleep. Would love a good pillow like this for stomach sleepers.

Katelyn Block January 1, 2013 at 10:15 PM

That happens to me too! However, never been able to sleep on my stomach. Technogel makes one for that I believe!

You crack me up, Love the first photo. I love a good cool side of the pillow, this looks awesome!

I am liking mine but honestly, still playing around with it. I think I should have picked a differnt style BUt I so love the technology!!! :)

Katelyn Block January 1, 2013 at 10:18 PM

The technology is (almost) all that matters! So comfy.

Lauren @ Sugar Coated Sisters December 30, 2012 at 3:55 PM

I sleep terribly. I think it’s a combo of netflix/hulu and blog reading/writing when really I should just shut off the distractions and read! I’m focusing on getting more sleep in the new year… Kinda a pathetic resolution.

KATELYN, where did you get that top?!!

Katelyn Block January 1, 2013 at 10:21 PM

Oh. my god. Total sleep problem twins. Those are the only reasons I stay up late at night, in addition to my brain that just sweet-goodness-DOES-NOT-TURN-OFF.

Forever21!! But waaaay last year… I’d be darned if they have it in the sale section!
