Hey there! How are things?

Currently hangin in the apartment after an incredibly productive day. I accomplished everything on my to-do list but one thing. I feel like awesome.


Sipping on some yummy stuff – the Bolivian blend on the right. So good, and definite hints of caramel!

Since I took last week off from CrossFit – which don’t get me wrong, I’m glad I did! – I’m feeling way out of shape and kind of soft. You know that feeling?

One of my trainers goes: “You’re lifting like crap today.” And I’m like, haha, oh thanks! And then he goes: “It’s probably cause you took a week off, all of your muscle turned back into fat.” OH WOW THANK YOU SO MUCH COACH.

Anyways. Today I did Invictus’ competition workout and I felt pretty good, although I can tell that my body isn’t quite back in the game yet. I did some heavy jerks with these babies:

I love them. Thank you, StrongerRx, for the incredibly cute (and functional) gloves!

I’ve been using them both for lifting and for ring work. They especially help with repeated movements, such as dips or ring pull-ups. Any way I can avoid ripping my hands (again) is a plus!

Let’s talk about how I eat omelettes. Every day.



I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’m starting to get bored of them. I think I’ll have pancakes tomorrow.

By the way. This post. One of the most-viewed of the year. Let them eat pancakes!

Time to head out to CrossFit and then I have a double date tonight! Intriguing, no? I’m intrigued too, I’m being set up by one of my friends. Crossing my fingers that this doesn’t turn into a bad Valentine’s Day movie.

I can’t imagine how I’d react if my coaches said that to me about taking a week off. Do they never give their bodies a break? I’d be so upset, so good for you for not taking it too seriously and reminding yourself that you took a break and will take a few days to get back into it. Pancakes are my new go-to breakfast lately too… I’m in love!

I definitely felt that way for part of break… it was like “wow all of my muscles must have dissolved…..” After a few workouts, that horrible feeling went away though, thank goodness. Have fun at Crossfit!

Hate it :( Feeling much better now that I’m easing back into working out a few times a week! I’m sure I’ll be able to do 5 days a week again soon.

aw what a sweet note! I have a folder in my e mail inbox called “happy e mails” where I keep e mails I get like that and I read them when i am feeling sad or discouraged!

Girl, I went through an omelet phase, too. Sometimes I’d eat them twice/day. Then I burned out and began a pancake phase. Then an egg puff phase. What can I say? I’m a phase girl. Go big or go home! ;) By the way, your omelet looks amazing.

I sure hope the date tonight was Valentine’s movie-worthy (in cute, romantic and swoon-worthy way!) :D

Man, seeing that coffee is making me droll. I’ve been out of coffee beans for a week or so, and I just miss it so much! Here’s hoping my family’s package arrives soon with my favorite kind of coffee inside. Anyway, I’m so proud of you for taking a week off of CrossFit. I struggle to give myself time to relax (especially with breaks from exercise), so your break is definitely inspiring. Although your body might not have been where you wanted it today, I’m sure it’ll bounce right back. You’re strong, and nothing’s taking that away from you!
